How to do marketing? for noobs
Word of mouth.
Do something good. Then do something fantastic.
When you achieve something fantastic, people will share your work.
If somebody has a big pain, and you give them a solution, they will tell it to others. They'll be genuinely proud of themselves, for finding you or your service/product, and they'll be proud of you as well. They'll talk to everybody they like about what happened. People who share the same pain will listen and hop into your offering if they find a fit.
You don't have to make noise. You can make noise if you want, but make sure at least 10 people or 100 people have their pain healed and are proud of your solution. So proud that they will stick around, and tell their families, and their friends about it. They will drive to another city, if necessary, to be able to get what you're offering. If they're not proud enough to do that, it means your solution isn't that good yet, or the person who bought it is not the right audience for you. That's why you have to make sure you do something fantastic before assuming anything.
If 10, 100, or 1000 people are proud of your solution, share it with others. Share their stories and tell newcomers how is it totally possible to achieve the outcome they want. "In fact, many other people achieved it, and there's proof. And they're exactly the same as you, same tastes, same problems, same pain of doing the same thing over and over again without a missing piece to help them", which is your solution. So you've been there before, and you helped many people make their way to the other side.
Work on your brand - which is the outcome people expect to see when they first see your presence showing up. If you follow a pattern and you have intention to affect people in a unique way, that's a brand. They'll expect things when they see you.
